Now it's time to leave the coast to enter into the Damaraland, in the brandberg massif. It was the second time to me in this place, but always nice to come back in such a beautiful and quiet place.
Beautiful gravel road between the coast and the Brandberg, we drove through the Karro formation, Volcanic rocks.
Volcanic landscape ...

We met a beautiful Chamaleon, just waiting for us along the road ...

Brandberg Massif,
Apéro and Sunset on the typical rocks (Pinkish Porphyric granite) of the Brandberg ...

Sunrise and visit of the White lady paintings, that you saw in a previous post in my blog ... We visit more paintings with a really nice and smart guide ...

This day was our fisrt meeting with Desert Elephants, thanks to lazarus to this moment ...

After this great time in the Brandberg massif, we decided to move towards the North-western part of Namibia, in the wilderness area of the Kaokoland ...
Along the road to
Kaokoland

Our first girafe on the road ... UI UI UI UI

2 other girafes close to our car ...

And our first river with water inside ... We are going closer to the northern part, not so far from the important Kunene river at the boundary with angola .

We arrived in
Sesfontein, to fix the flat tyres that we had on the road ... More than 1 hour after, we are ready to go into the Hoanib river, up to our next camp site in the middle of the river ...

Hoanib River, we are in the wild ... nobody around, only a small track into the river bed... It's only the beginning of a great adventure ...

And after around 20 kilometers into the river, we had our first meeting with animals ... and not the smallest ... Just look at the right of the picture ...

Yeah !!!!!!!
DESERTS ELEPHANTS ... Fantastic ... incredible ... Awesome ... and these elephants are just on the tracks ... So take your breathe and Go ... We drove at maximum 15 meters from the elephants ... I will never forget ...

After this, we found a place to camp ... great night without visit of elephants ...

The next day, we continue the "road" towards
Purros ... The morning was in the Hoanib river with still quite a lot of Wild animals ...
Girafes ...

Oryx ...

Elephants ...

And fabulous landscape, sand and rocks ...

This is the last picture of the spectacular Hoanib river ...

After this river, the tracks are following some dunes, and a plateau. On this plateau, we had a pic nic in the middle of Oryx and baboons.

This plateau is located at the beginning of the Purros Conservancy ...

The entry of the
Hoarusib river ...

After 2 minutes in the Hoarusib river, Nolwenn said "I can see something at the front of the car, and I think that is Lions" ... Indeed .... 3 female Lions and 1 male, and like the elephants, they are also on the tracks ... It's just CRAZY ...

These lions at few meters of the car, in the middle of nowhere ... Great experience , but few meters after we saw some beatiful rocks, and everybody in the car just did'nt allow me to go out to take pictures of the outcrops ... Bouhouhou
Here is the incredible migmatites ... I will come back ...

Arriving in
Purros, with young singers, just singing their national anthem ... They enjoy their biscuits, books and pens ...

This village is one of the important Himbas villages in the Kaokoland, we visit cupple of himbas villages that I will show you in the next post.
